ASUS ROG Xbox Ally – 7” 1080p 120Hz Touchscreen Gaming Handheld, 3-month

The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally brings console-style gaming to a portable format for players who want their PC and Xbox libraries on the move. Built with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor and running Windows 11, it allows you to boot straight into the Xbox experience while maintaining access to external platforms like Steam and Epic Games. It serves gamers who want to continue their saved progress across devices using Xbox Play Anywhere.

Visuals are handled by a 7-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass touchscreen that delivers 500 nits of brightness. Fast-paced titles benefit from the 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium variable refresh rate, which prevents visual screen tearing. Internally, 16GB of 6400MHz LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD handle game loading and multitasking across different launchers.

Physical comfort comes from a chassis shaped with contoured grips reminiscent of an Xbox Wireless Controller, keeping the 1.47-pound device balanced in your hands. When you need power on the go, the 60Whrs battery recharges from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes. Dual USB Type-C ports also allow you to hook the handheld up to a TV or plug in extra controllers for multiplayer sessions.

Keep in mind that modern PC game installs can quickly fill the onboard 512GB SSD, so managing your storage space is necessary. The device relies on its 60Whrs battery for portable play, meaning extended sessions away from power outlets will eventually require the fast-charging cable.

Verdict: The ROG Xbox Ally is an excellent choice for players who want full access to their Xbox and Windows PC libraries on a responsive 120Hz portable screen. If you value cross-platform game support and flexible TV connectivity, this handheld fits the bill.
