Detailed Review
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Bluetooth Headphones (2nd Gen) deliver active noise cancellation and spatialized sound for listeners who want an enveloping audio experience. Designed for daily commuting, focused office work, and media viewing, these over-ear headphones use plush ear cushions and a metal headband to evenly distribute pressure for all-day comfort.
Sound personalization is a central focus, driven by CustomTune technology that analyzes the shape of your ears and adjusts playback accordingly. For environmental control, you can choose Quiet Mode for maximum isolation, Aware Mode to hear your surroundings, or Immersion Mode to combine active cancellation with spatial sound. Video viewers can also switch to Cinema Mode, which balances background effects and spatializes audio specifically for watching movies.
Connectivity and voice performance are powered by Bluetooth Core 5.4, providing a stable wireless range of up to 30 feet. When taking calls or video conferences, built-in noise-rejecting microphones use AI-based background noise suppression to filter out wind and environmental distractions. You can also connect via USB-C for two-way USB voice communication while simultaneously charging the battery.
Keep in mind that enabling Immersive Audio reduces the total battery life from 30 hours down to 23 hours. Additionally, accessing feature adjustments and software updates requires downloading the dedicated Bose mobile app to your device.
Verdict: The Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) is well suited for anyone who wants customizable noise cancellation, immersive movie modes, and strong microphone clarity for daily calls. If you value tailored sound and comfortable over-ear wear, these headphones are an easy recommendation.
