Detailed Review
The Razer BlackShark V2 X is a wired gaming headset designed for multi-platform players who want clear audio and voice communication without heavy gear. Built around a standard 3.5mm audio connection, it provides a straightforward, plug-and-play solution across desktop computers, modern consoles, and portable systems.
Acoustic performance centers on the 50mm TriForce drivers, which feature titanium-coated diaphragms. The design divides sound delivery into three distinct sections, tuning highs, mids, and lows individually to keep treble clear and bass strong. For communication, the HyperClear cardioid microphone uses a pickup pattern that captures your speech clearly while reducing background noise from the back and sides.
Comfort and isolation are key elements of the physical build. Weighing 240 grams, the headset uses sturdy closed earcups with breathable foam cushions that cover the ears completely. This closed design delivers passive noise isolation by forming a close seal against the head, helping prevent external room noises from leaking into your audio.
There are a few compatibility caveats to keep in mind. The 7.1 surround sound feature relies on software that only functions on 64-bit Windows 10 PCs, meaning console users receive standard stereo output. Additionally, older Xbox One controllers may require a separately purchased stereo adapter to use the 3.5mm jack.
Verdict: The Razer BlackShark V2 X is an excellent choice for players seeking a lightweight, comfortable wired headset with strong noise isolation and clear team chat. It suits multi-platform gamers who prioritize dependable plug-in audio across PC, Switch, and consoles.
