Detailed Review
The BolaButty portable wireless speaker offers everyday audio playback for listeners who need a compact sound system around the house, backyard, or campsite. Driven by two internal drivers producing 20W of output, it balances clear midtones with low distortion for music, mobile gaming, and movies. Weighing just 1.28 pounds, it fits easily into a backpack or tote bag.
For connectivity, the unit uses Bluetooth 5.3 to sustain wireless streaming up to 100 feet from your phone or tablet. If you want a bigger soundstage, you can link two of these speakers together for dedicated stereo playback across the room. It also includes beat-syncing multicolor LED lights that you can cycle through or turn off completely via a dedicated button.
Battery performance reaches up to 24 hours when operating at 50% volume with the LED lighting disabled. The speaker also includes an integrated microphone for handling hands-free phone conversations, alongside an auxiliary port for wired sources. An IPX5 water resistance rating ensures safe operation near the pool or beach by guarding against directional water splashes.
There are a few trade-offs to note based on the specifications. The maximum 24-hour runtime drops if you raise the volume or keep the light show running, and the AUX cable is not supplied in the package. Additionally, an IPX5 rating handles splashes and rain, but it does not protect against full underwater submersion.
Verdict: The BolaButty speaker is a practical choice for shoppers seeking a portable, splash-proof music player with extended battery life and party lighting. It serves well for casual outdoor gatherings, desktop use, and everyday travel.
