REOLINK Video Doorbell WiFi 2K Wired Camera, 4:3 Wide View Outdoor Camera

Upgrading your entryway security starts with a reliable video doorbell, and the REOLINK video doorbell pairs detailed visual coverage with steady hardwired performance. Built for exterior doors exposed to the elements, this waterproof front door unit captures clear footage in daylight or darkness. It gives homeowners and renters with existing doorbell wiring an effective way to monitor packages and answer visitors remotely.

Video quality is central to its daily performance. The camera delivers 2K Super HD clarity supported by high dynamic range (HDR), 3D digital noise reduction (3D DNR), and distortion correction technology to keep doorway images crisp even in low light. Its 180-degree viewing angle uses an expansive 4:3 aspect ratio, allowing you to see tall visitors and nearby ground packages clearly. An included 15-degree wedge kit helps angle the lens to optimize framing around awkward porch layouts.

Connectivity relies on dual-band WiFi across 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels, providing network flexibility to maintain a fluid live stream. For indoor alerts, the included Chime V2 plugs directly into any standard electrical wall outlet, offering 10 tunes and volume controls. At the door, two-way audio lets you communicate through the built-in speaker and microphone, while preset voice notes and automatic replies allow you to manage deliveries when you cannot speak freely.

Security monitoring features smart detection alerts alongside event-triggered spotlights that activate on a set night schedule to deter porch theft. Subscribing to the free Rich Notification plan provides up to 25 image-rich phone notifications every day. Compatibility centers heavily around the brand ecosystem, as REOLINK recommends linking the unit with its dedicated chimes, NVR systems, and branded accessories for full functionality.

The primary compromise comes from its power requirements. Because it is a strictly wired device requiring 12 to 24VAC or DC 24V supply, you cannot simply stick it to an entryway with tape and run on battery power. Additionally, the complimentary tier of rich photo alerts is capped at 25 per day, which active front porches might reach during busy hours.

Verdict: This video doorbell is an excellent pick for homeowners who already have low-voltage wiring and want wide-angle 2K video without swapping batteries. If you lack low-voltage wiring or prefer a battery-powered device, you will need to look at wire-free alternatives.

A great fit if you:

• Already have compatible low-voltage doorbell wiring supplying 12 to 24VAC or 24VDC at your entryway.
• Need an expansive 180-degree field of view in a 4:3 aspect ratio to monitor visitors and doorway deliveries.
• Rely on a dual-band network and want the speed of 5GHz WiFi alongside standard 2.4GHz coverage.
• Want an included indoor outlet chime that offers customizable tunes and volume options right out of the box.

Consider something else if you:

• Rent a home without low-voltage doorbell lines and need a battery-operated wire-free doorbell.
• Require more than 25 free rich image notifications every day without buying into an upgraded subscription plan.
• Prefer an entryway camera that functions entirely independent of brand-specific accessories and recording ecosystems.

Confirm on the listing:

• Check whether your current transformer meets the required 12-24VAC 50/60Hz or DC 24V power specifications.
• Check the mounting dimensions on the listing to ensure the body and 15-degree wedge fit your exterior doorframe width.
• Confirm what installation screws, wiring leads, or wall anchors are provided in the package before starting setup.
• Check if additional chime units or specific NVR models are needed if you plan to monitor multiple floors.

How to compare your options: Video doorbells differ primarily by their power source, lens proportions, and network connectivity. This model focuses on wired low-voltage power, eliminating the maintenance of battery recharges. When comparing models, match your available transformer output against the camera's listed voltage requirements, and verify that the viewing angle provides adequate vertical coverage for packages on your front porch.

Use these practical habits to get the most out of your doorbell camera installation:

• Install the provided 15-degree wedge kit during setup if your entryway wall sits perpendicular to the walkway, aiming the 180-degree lens straight at approaching guests.
• Place the plug-in Chime V2 into an electrical outlet located in a central room where alert chimes can be easily heard throughout the living space.
• Record clear preset voice messages and automatic replies through the companion controls so you can handle unexpected package deliveries while away.
• Configure the scheduled nighttime spotlight triggers in the settings to illuminate the porch during designated evening delivery windows.
• Keep the camera lens and outdoor housing clean by wiping the exterior surfaces gently as recommended in the product manual.
