Lenovo Yoga 7i, 16" 2-in-1 Laptop, Intel Ultra 7 155U, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD

Large-screen versatility defines this 2-in-1 convertible laptop, built for professionals and students who want the spacious view of a 16-inch display without giving up the flexibility of a tablet or presentation screen. The Lenovo Yoga 7i centers its experience around a flexible 360-degree hinge that moves fluidly between traditional typing, an upright display mode for watching video, a shared tent orientation, and a flat slate for touch interaction. Its chassis meets MIL-STD-810H military durability standards, providing physical reassurance for commuters and remote workers shifting between workspaces.

Processing power comes from an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U chip featuring 12 cores and speeds up to 4.8 GHz, paired with integrated Intel Graphics and AI Copilot integration in Windows 11 Home. Backed by 16GB of fast LPDDR5x RAM clocked at 7467 MHz and a 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive, the machine maintains responsive pacing across large spreadsheets, dozens of open browser tabs, and photo editing software. Built-in connectivity is equally capable, featuring Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and native support for up to three external monitors via HDMI and Thunderbolt without needing a docking station.

Visuals are handled by a 16-inch WUXGA IPS touchscreen with Dolby Vision support and TÜV Low Blue Light certification to ease long work sessions. Daily usability gets a noticeable lift from the backlit keyboard, which includes a dedicated numeric keypad for data entry, as well as a 1080p IR camera with a physical privacy shutter for secure facial recognition logins alongside a fingerprint reader.

There are practical trade-offs to keep in mind before choosing this model. The 300-nit panel brightness suits indoor office environments and study halls, but it may struggle against direct sunlight or harsh glare. Additionally, because this specific retail package comes resealed after a solid-state drive upgrade, the warranty is split: the 512GB SSD carries three-year coverage through Issaquah Highlands Tech, while Lenovo covers the remaining laptop components for one year.

Verdict: This 2-in-1 convertible laptop is a solid match for college students, office workers, and multitaskers who need a big touchscreen, fast memory, and broad peripheral connectivity in one flexible chassis. Those who require an exceptionally bright outdoor screen or prefer factory-sealed hardware with single-source warranty backing should look at alternative options.

This model pairs a 12-core processor with high-frequency memory and Thunderbolt 4 data pathways, giving it an advantage for multi-screen productivity over systems limited to standard USB connections.

• Configure Windows Hello during initial setup to utilize both the infrared camera for facial sign-in and the fingerprint sensor for quick access.

• Use the bundled IST Computers 7-in-1 hub at your primary workstation to leave secondary USB accessories and memory cards connected while keeping laptop ports open.
• Take advantage of Rapid Charge support to quickly restore battery levels between classes, meetings, or travel departures.
