Detailed Review
The RIG 800 PRO HX is a dedicated wireless gaming headset designed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC players. It tackles the frustration of constant recharging and messy cables by pairing an ultra-long battery life with a dedicated charging dock. If you spend hours gaming across Microsoft platforms and want a reliable wireless connection without audio lag, this setup provides a focused solution.
Sound delivery is handled by 40mm speaker drivers equipped with low-frequency resonators, engineered to reinforce bass output while keeping distortion down. When plugging in the 2.4GHz RF wireless adapter, you gain access to Dolby Atmos for Headphones on compatible Xbox consoles and PC, allowing you to track directional audio cues in supported titles. The headset also keeps adjustments simple with on-ear dials that let you tweak master volume, balance game and voice chat, and adjust mic monitoring on the fly.
Comfort and durability are central to the physical build. It utilizes a snap-fit sizing system with small, medium, and large slots alongside a self-adjusting head strap. The sound-isolating ear cups help block ambient room distractions, while the flexible frame is built to withstand heavy bending. For voice communication, the flexible boom microphone flips up to mute and uses noise-cancelling hardware, provided the indicator label on the tip is oriented properly toward your mouth.
Before buying, consider your hardware setup. The 2.4GHz wireless connection is designed specifically for Xbox consoles and PC, meaning it is not built for other console ecosystems. Additionally, you will need to ensure the boom microphone is positioned correctly with the CHAT label facing you to get the proper noise-cancelling performance from the mic.
Verdict: The RIG 800 PRO HX is an easy recommendation for dedicated Xbox and PC gamers who want massive battery longevity and dock charging. It combines spatial audio support, on-ear chat mixing, and a durable frame into a dependable wireless package.
