NETGEAR Orbi 370 Series WiFi 7 Mesh System, Up to 6,000 sq ft., 3 Pack | Up to 5 Gbps, 70 Devices, Easy Set Up, Dual-Band, Security Features, 2.5 Gig Port, Router + 2 Satellite Extenders, RBE373

A whole-home mesh system solves the common headache of dropped connections in large spaces, and the NETGEAR Orbi 370 Series WiFi 7 Mesh System brings modern networking directly to sprawling households. Consisting of a primary router and two satellite extenders, this three-pack is designed to cover up to 6,000 square feet. It blankets areas from the basement to the rooftop and out toward the yard, making it an appealing option for households tired of negotiating dead zones across multiple floors.

Speed and capacity are where this hardware shines. Operating on WiFi 7 technology, it reaches transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps, which is 2.4 times faster than older WiFi 6 setups. That extra throughput provides sufficient headroom for intensive tasks like 8K media streaming, virtual reality, competitive gaming, and simultaneous video calls. It supports up to 70 devices on a single network, while remaining backward compatible with older WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 phones, laptops, and smart home gadgets so you do not need to replace existing gear.

Getting the network running is straightforward thanks to guided step-by-step instructions provided in the Orbi app. From the application, you can manage your connected gear, adjust settings, and configure guest access from anywhere. It connects directly to your existing cable or fiber internet provider equipment, and it comes equipped with a 2.5 Gig port ready to take full advantage of high-speed internet service tiers up to 2.5 Gbps.

Hardware of this caliber still involves practical design trade-offs. This system uses dual-band technology with enhanced backhaul rather than dedicated tri-band architecture, meaning heavy traffic must share frequency bands. Furthermore, while core safety measures like Advanced Router Protection and automatic firmware updates work right out of the box, the comprehensive NETGEAR Armor security suite requires a separate ongoing subscription after its initial 30-day free trial concludes. The system is also strictly limited to US operation.

Verdict: This whole-home mesh system is an excellent match for large US households that need expansive 6,000-square-foot coverage, high device capacity, and compatibility with multi-gig internet tiers. Buyers who prefer an included lifetime security subscription without recurring fees may want to look elsewhere.

A great fit if you:

• Live in a large home up to 6,000 square feet that struggles with weak signals in distant rooms or outdoor spaces.
• Subscribe to an internet plan up to 2.5 Gbps and need a 2.5 Gig port to take full advantage of that speed.
• Manage a crowded household with dozens of phones, tablets, smart TVs, and gaming rigs totaling up to 70 connected devices.
• Want the performance benefits of WiFi 7 while keeping existing WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 electronics connected without issue.

Consider something else if you:

• Reside outside the United States and require networking hardware certified for international regional power and wireless standards.
• Want all advanced identity and malware protections permanently included without paying for a separate software subscription down the road.
• Prefer a tri-band mesh system with a dedicated wireless band reserved solely for router-to-satellite backhaul communication.

Confirm on the listing:

• Check whether your modem or fiber gateway uses standard ethernet connections to link with the Orbi router.
• Confirm the physical dimensions of each tower to ensure you have suitable shelf or tabletop space in each target room.
• Verify that your internet service plan matches your expectations, noting that speeds up to 2.5 Gbps require a compatible plan from your provider.
• Check the satellite placement options in your multi-story layout to ensure adequate coverage between the basement, main living areas, and upper floors.

How to compare your options: Mesh networking options vary widely by total square footage, device thresholds, and wireless generation. When evaluating choices, compare the advertised square footage against your home footprint, as well as whether the hardware supports modern standards like WiFi 7 or older WiFi 6 protocols. Keep in mind that real-world speeds will always depend on your connected devices, home construction materials, and your active internet service plan.

To ensure strong coverage throughout your property, place the primary router near your internet service provider modem and distribute the two satellite extenders evenly across your living areas. If your home features multiple levels or heavy building materials, adjusting the position of each satellite can help avoid signal degradation between the router and remote rooms.

Download the Orbi mobile application on your smartphone before starting hardware installation. Following the guided setup process ensures that your network credentials, guest network access, and initial configurations are applied smoothly without manual guesswork.

Allow the system to run automatic firmware updates so you receive current performance enhancements and security protections as they become available. If you choose to activate the included 30-day trial of NETGEAR Armor, test its security and identity theft tools during that window to decide whether the separate subscription is worth maintaining for your household.

Does this mesh system work with my current internet service provider?
Yes, it is compatible with cable or fiber internet service providers. You simply connect the primary Orbi router directly into your existing provider modem or gateway equipment.

Can I add more coverage later if my house is larger than 6,000 square feet?
Yes, the network is expandable. You can purchase and pair an additional Orbi 370 Series satellite extender, which adds up to 2,000 square feet of coverage per unit.

Will my older laptops and mobile phones still connect to this network?
Yes, this system is backward compatible. While it features WiFi 7 speeds, it connects standard WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 devices alongside newer electronics without compatibility issues.

Is NETGEAR Armor security free to use permanently?
No, it includes a 30-day free trial out of the box. Once the trial period ends, continuing to use the enhanced malware, hacker, and identity theft protection requires a separate paid subscription.

Can this system be used outside the United States?
No, this model is made for use in the US only.
